Dunes in La Mata

If you are looking for the quintessential Mediterranean beach, look no further than Playa de la Mata, Torrevieja. Located at the northern end of Torrevieja, this beautiful stretch of the Mediterranean is bordered by white sand and dunes and pine trees beyond. Take a walk along the wooden walkways to admire the beautiful views of the sea, and you may even see the Isla de Tabarca, a small island a few kilometers from the Mediterranean coast.

The nearby Molino del Agua Natural Park is perfect for a pleasant stroll, with its picturesque fountains and pools that provide a pleasant backdrop. There is plenty of seating, shade, and a few gazebos among the pines. Located in the park, the Queen Mississippi restaurant is open year round and has a fantastic outdoor lounge and chillout area with wonderful views of the park and the ocean.

Discover the nearby Punta Prima

Follow the coast a few kilometers south of Torrevieja and you will come across the beautiful beach of Punta Prima. The sheltered sand is ideal for sunbathing and the waters are popular with bathers throughout the summer and into the fall.
